That fine blonde hair on your face?
Congratulations! You’ve just found the best way to get rid of it.
Say hello to dermaplaning – your new best friend.
Dermaplaning (or epiblading) is a gentle method of exfoliation that removes the outer layers of dead skin cells as well as any fine and soft facial hair.
It involves working a sterile surgical blade over the skin. It only takes about 30-60 minutes and the best bit – no downtime!
There’s a bunch of benefits you’ll get from dermaplaning. Let’s have a look at what you can expect with a dermaplaning appointment at Glam Beauty Bar & Skin Clinic.
Exfoliation & Fine Hair Removal
Dermaplaning is perfect for cleaning up the skin.
It exfoliates the skin more deeply than microdermabrasion, but still has zero downtime after treatment. Your top layer of dead skin cells and debris will be gone after treatment.
As for those pesky blonde hairs catching the light? They’ll be all gone after dermaplaning, along with any vellus hair (peach fuzz/fluff) on the face.
A common question pops up here – “will the hair on my face grow back worse?” And we can happily give you a resounding “NO”.
Vellus hair cannot be changed into terminal hair (thicker coarse hair) by cutting it. It’s common to feel a little stubble as your hair starts growing back after treatment. This doesn’t mean that your hair is thicker or coarser than before. It has to do with the way each hair was cut straight across, making the hair feel blunt on the end where it was cut, rather than thinning towards the top how it normally grows.
All in all, you can expect to enjoy a smooth-like-butter feel on your skin after treatment.
Radiant & Glowing Skin
All that work removing fine hair, dead skin cells and other debris from the skin isn’t just for fun.
You’ll be able to see an immediate change in your face after a dermaplaning treatment.
When the beauty therapists at Glam Beauty Bar & Skin Clinic slough off the damaged skin, we’re revealing a fresher, more youthful layer underneath. This means a natural reduction in fine lines and wrinkles, and an overall smoother, more youthful appearance!
A dermaplaning treatment will also help prevent acne and breakouts on your skin, as well as reducing the appearance of acne scars. In saying this, you should not use dermaplaning as a treatment for active acne cases. To do so would irritate the skin and slow the healing process down.

Smoother Makeup Application
Cakey makeup.
We’ve all suffered from it. We’ve all vowed to never let it happen again.
With dermaplaning, it actually won’t happen again.
We know dermaplaning smoothes the skin and removes those fine blonde hairs. And it makes sense that when your skin is smooth, so is your makeup. We can’t say it enough – flawless looking makeup application is SO much easier on smooth, exfoliated skin.
That’s why we often recommend dermaplaning for our clients before big events. When you really want to be looking your best, dermaplaning can help make sure your makeup is on point and looking natural.

Perfect For (Nearly) Everyone
Dermaplaning gives a range of benefits, but our favourite thing about the treatment is its accessibility. Dermaplaning is suitable for most skin types and tones, and is especially recommended for those with dry skin.
And for our friends out there with sensitive skin, dermaplaning might be your saviour! Although it uses a scalpel to scrape skin cells, it’s a painless treatment and is less irritable than a session of microdermabrasion.
Those with cystic acne, open wounds, rosacea, dermatitis or eczema are the only ones that may not be best off with dermaplaning. If you have any concerns, please give us a call on 9370 0955 and we’ll be happy to chat about your particular skin type’s needs.
The Bottom Line
Dermaplaning is an amazing treatment that we love offering to clients at Glam Beauty Bar & Skin Clinic.
It deeply exfoliates the skin and removes annoying vellus hairs, providing a lasting radiant, glowing look. The treatment will help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and acne scars, and you’ll have an easier job putting on makeup afterwards too!
